Yeh I already edited my post, I was accidentally mixing people up :P.

I'm just following Ensign's footsteps. Glyph of Sacrifice - Resurrection Chant is his creation.

GvG generally gives optimized builds. Optimized builds are what you rarely see in PvE. Of course, there are exceptions, such as Dragon Slash, Minion Masters, and the like, but for the Elementalist's case, there really are only a few paths to be optimized.

As dgb says, the builds people generally run are pretty substandard, but hell, if you have fun with it...

It does teach people how to read breakpoints.

[Shameless self advertising]
My forgotten article covers all that, to a beginner. I do think breakpoints are something to watch for is generally good.

I have to say I am speechless...almost. Please tell me the build you came up with at the end of that was a joke?

Edited: I can only assume those builds are for PvP. Sorry...I don't PvP so I automatically think PvE...

Nope, it's not a joke. It's a perfectly valid PVP build and it probably helps a great deal if you use it wisely. You two just look at an ele from different points of view. People would expect eles to PWN major face and blow people to tiny bits with frontloaded damage, but in PvP they just can't seem to keep good pressure up. Ele's have the curse of being overly vulnerable to all kinds of mischief that won't bother you in PvE missions. I tried everything in TA with mine and i Finally came up with this:
-Res signet
-Ether Prodigy
-Air attunement
-Purge signet
-Blinding flash
-Lightning hammer
-Enervating charge
-Stoning

cons:
-People strip enchants, i'm screwed
-Lightning hammer is fine damage but the *&(*&(!!! emanagement system eles have make me lose all 25 energy when some smartass interrupts it.
-Casting Air attunements, oh crap, interrupted, no I have to do without for the next 45 SECONDS ><
-Blinding flash is godly, darn why doesnt it do damage!
-Enervating + stoning do some nice weakness + KD, if there isnt a tree/rock in the way that is

Damn if I want to beat the crap out of people, why not run a warrior...

As for lightnings remark on eles running suboptimal skills in PvE I can only say that there is no such thing. I often tweak my build to optimize it because I know what I will run into. There is no 'optimal' build for PvE because it constantly changes

Should that last bit read PvP? PvE does change but generally if there's a dramatic change from what you are currently doing you will hit a town / outpost first.
